2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition launched at ₹36.51 lakh: prices, features and what’s new
Toyota has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India from ₹36.51 lakh (ex-showroom), with black styling, a black-and-maroon cabin and bookings from 12 October.

Toyota has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹36.51 lakh. The special edition of the full-size SUV gets cosmetic and feature updates but no mechanical changes, and bookings open on 12 October.
ETV Bharat reported that the edition is aimed at boosting sales in the coming festive season.
Prices
- Leader Edition 4×2 manual: ₹36.51 lakh
- Leader Edition 4×2 automatic: ₹38.72 lakh
ETV Bharat said these are ex-showroom prices, and that the automatic costs ₹2.21 lakh more than the manual.
What’s new outside
- New black front grille
- Black rear door (tailgate) garnish
- Gloss black alloy wheels; ETV Bharat put the size at 18 inches
- Dual-tone black roof and black-finished antenna
- Large “TOYOTA” lettering on the bonnet, according to ETV Bharat
Inside the cabin
Both outlets reported dual-tone black and maroon seat upholstery with matching door trims, ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates. Features include auto-folding outside mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). ETV Bharat noted that, apart from ambient lighting, these features were also on last year’s Leader Edition.
Engine and colours
The Leader Edition is offered only with two-wheel drive (4×2). It uses the standard Fortuner’s 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which makes 204 hp and 500 Nm with the six-speed automatic, according to ETV Bharat. With the six-speed manual, torque drops to 420 Nm.
It comes in three colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. ETV Bharat reported that Silver Metallic, offered on the earlier Leader Edition, has been dropped.
Background
ETV Bharat reported that Leader Editions were also sold in 2024 and 2025, but only as dealer-offered options. Neither outlet has reported delivery timelines.
EVO India reported that the dual-tone black roof, body-side mouldings and bonnet emblem carry over, and summed up the edition as one that “gets cosmetic and feature updates to keep it fresh”. For buyers, that means the Leader Edition looks and feels different from the regular 4×2 Fortuner but drives the same, since its engine, gearboxes and drivetrain are unchanged.
