Borja Martinez scored twice and Menno Koch headed an 89th-minute winner as Bengaluru FC came from behind to beat SC Delhi 3-2 in the ISL opener.

Bengaluru FC came from behind to beat SC Delhi 3-2 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday, 10 October, in the opening match of the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season. Spanish debutant Borja Martinez scored twice, and defender Menno Koch headed in the winner in the 89th minute.
How the match unfolded
Martinez put Bengaluru ahead in the 22nd minute with a left-footed strike from outside the box, set up by Ryan Williams. SC Delhi levelled four minutes later through Rodriguinho, who finished from close range after a pass from Hnamte.
Delhi went ahead in the 32nd minute when Koch turned a cross from Juan Pena into his own net. SC Delhi led 2-1 at half-time.
Martinez equalised in the 75th minute with a left-footed finish from the left side of the box, assisted by Mihailo Perovic. Koch then made up for his own goal, heading home a cross from substitute Soham Varshneya in the 89th minute.

The Bridge reported that Martinez began his ISL career with a brace on debut. Deccan Herald also described the match as a comeback win for the hosts, who trailed 1-2 before turning it around.
Goa and Chennaiyin share the points
The second match of the season, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, ended in a 1-1 draw between FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC, according to ANI and Khel Now. Khel Now dates it to Saturday, 10 October.
The first half was goalless. Irfan Yadwad put Chennaiyin ahead in the 64th minute with a right-footed shot into the far corner. Chiki equalised for Goa in the 75th minute, heading a free kick into the bottom-right corner after a foul on Udanta Singh.
Both reports note that Goa had the better of the chances late on. Ramon Taque hit the post with a curling long-range effort around the 70th minute, Udanta Singh hit the crossbar, and Ramon headed over in the closing stages. Goa had four corners to Chennaiyin’s one.
What comes next
Khel Now reported that Bengaluru FC lead the early table with three points, with Goa second and Chennaiyin third. Bengaluru host Chennaiyin FC in a Southern Derby at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on 17 October. FC Goa face SC Delhi at Fatorda on 28 October, kick-off 7:30 pm IST.
