OTT releases on 16 October: Sacrifice, Masterplan, Tenzing, Aasha and Roadies Rebirth

Several films and series begin streaming in India on Friday, 16 October, across JioHotstar, Netflix, Prime Video, ZEE5 and Apple TV. The titles below have release dates confirmed by at least two sources, including official platform announcements where available.

Films

• Sacrifice (Netflix): Romain Gavras directed this film, which stars Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy, with Salma Hayek Pinault, Vincent Cassel and John Malkovich. Netflix describes a struggling action star at a celebrity charity gala in Greece, which a cult leader and her followers take hostage. The release date is confirmed by Netflix and The Sunday Guardian. IWMBuzz separately lists a title called Sacrifice on Lionsgate Play on the same date.
• Masterplan (Prime Video): Stanley Tucci stars in this heist comedy about a famous thief who recruits two young people to steal the Mona Lisa and then tells them they are his long-lost children. Amazon says the film will stream in more than 240 countries and territories. Thomas Vincent directed it, and Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo co-star.
• Tenzing (Apple TV): This Apple Original film is about Tenzing Norgay and the first ascent of Mount Everest. Genden Phuntsok plays Tenzing, Tom Hiddleston plays Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe plays Colonel John Hunt. Jennifer Peedom directed it. Apple says the film opened in select theatres on 9 October and streams globally from 16 October.
• Aasha (ZEE5): Urvashi plays the title role in this Malayalam psychological thriller, with Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi. Debutant Safar Sanal directed it. The film was released in theatres on 11 September and will stream in Malayalam with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada dubs, according to MediaNews4U.

Series and shows

• Roadies Rebirth (JioHotstar): Season 21 of the reality show premieres on 16 October, with Rannvijay Singha as host. New episodes are scheduled every Friday and Saturday at 7 pm, according to Esquire India and IWMBuzz. Esquire India reported that the season will also stream on Netflix and will continue to air on MTV. The gang leaders are Nikhil Chinapa, Neha Dhupia and Prince Narula for the “OG” team, and Abhishek Malhan, Bani J and Baseer Ali for the “NewG” team.

Other titles

Some outlets list more 16 October releases, including the Turkish Netflix series Money Trap: The Karun Treasure and several regional titles on Sun NXT, Aha Tamil and Lionsgate Play. The Daily Rostrum could not confirm these with a second source, so they are not included above. Streaming dates can vary by region, and viewers should check each platform’s listing.
