Anjali Arora leaves Kanpur dandiya event early after DJ plays ‘Kacha Badam’
The social media star confronted the event team and left within about 12 minutes, according to Hindi media reports and viral videos.

Social media personality Anjali Arora cut short her appearance at a dandiya event in Kanpur after the DJ played “Kacha Badam”, the track whose viral dance videos first brought her fame. Clips of her confronting the event team have spread widely online this week.
What happened at the event
Arora was a guest at a “Nagada Night” dandiya celebration in the Motijheel area of Kanpur, Times Now Navbharat and Haribhoomi reported. Glamsham, citing posts on X, placed the event at Lajpat Bhawan on 15 October. According to the reports, she was received warmly by a large crowd and spoke with fans before the song began playing.
She then went to the DJ console and asked for the organisers and management to be summoned, the videos show. When the DJ apologised, she said the apology should be directed elsewhere: Haribhoomi understood her to mean the audience, while Times Now Navbharat read it as a reference to the organisers. She also remarked that celebrities would stop visiting Kanpur if events were managed this way, and that she came to the city because of the affection of her fans, the reports said.
- Event: Nagada Night dandiya celebration, Kanpur
- Trigger: DJ played “Kacha Badam”
- Time on site: about 12 minutes, as per Hindi media reports
- Organiser response: none reported
An early exit
Arora told the audience she would leave, though she first offered to perform one song for them, according to Times Now Navbharat. Hindi outlets said she was at the venue for roughly 12 minutes in all, and some attendees were left disappointed. Glamsham reported that she apologised to the audience before stepping away. None of the outlets named the organiser or carried any response from the event team.
Mixed reaction online
The episode has divided social media users. Some criticised her for reacting to the very song that made her known, while others argued the issue was about how artists are treated by event managers, Glamsham reported. Haribhoomi noted that her complaint, as heard in the video, was directed at the arrangements rather than at the song itself.
Arora rose to prominence with short dance videos set to “Kacha Badam” and has since appeared in music videos and reality television. She recently played Sita in the film Mahakavya Shri Ramayana Katha, a role that drew online trolling. She has not issued a separate public statement on the Kanpur incident so far.
