Royal Enfield has marked its 125th year with a collector-oriented version of the Classic 650, priced at ₹4,25,589 (ex-showroom) in India. The motorcycle, called the 125th Anniversary Edition Hypershift Classic 650, was revealed on 16 October, and buyers have to register their interest before a single sale day.

Price, numbers and how to buy

The company is capping production at 125 units in each of its key regions worldwide, with India counted as one of them, according to Rushlane and ETV Bharat. Registrations opened at 2 pm IST on 16 October and run up to 28 October, which is also the day of sale, Autocar Professional reported. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November, according to Rushlane and Autocar Professional; ETV Bharat’s report did not mention a delivery timeline.

  • Ex-showroom price: ₹4,25,589
  • Production cap: 125 units per key region
  • Registration window: 16 to 28 October
  • Deliveries: from November 2026

ETV Bharat put the special edition about ₹58,000 above the entry Classic 650 (around ₹3.68 lakh) and roughly ₹43,500 above the costliest regular variant (around ₹3.82 lakh), both ex-Chennai figures. Autocar Professional noted that pricing and timing could differ from country to country.

What sets it apart

The headline feature is a colour-shifting “Hypershift” paint applied over a brass base. Depending on the angle of light, the finish appears red, green or gold. Royal Enfield links the brass theme to its first motorcycles of 1901, Autocar Professional reported.

Other changes are cosmetic. The fuel tank gets hand-painted pinstripes around a black centre panel and a cannon motif, while a gilded 125-year crest and anniversary badging appear on the side panels. The seat is finished in quilted brown leather with contrast stitching. The engine and twin exhausts are done in black.

Mechanicals unchanged

Underneath, the bike is the familiar Classic 650 built on the brand’s 650 Twin platform. The 648cc parallel-twin produces about 47 PS and 52.3 Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox, according to Rushlane and ETV Bharat. Braking hardware includes a 320 mm front disc, a 300 mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS, running on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels. Rushlane listed the kerb weight at 243 kg and the fuel tank at 14.7 litres.

None of the three reports carried comments from Royal Enfield executives, and none mentioned other anniversary models beyond this edition.
