BMW Motorrad reveals 420cc twin-cylinder F 450 RR supersport; no India price yet

On 15 October, BMW Motorrad took the wraps off the F 450 RR, a fully faired 48 PS motorcycle on the 450 platform built by TVS, though its India launch timing and price remain unconfirmed.

BMW Motorrad took the covers off the F 450 RR, a fully faired supersport motorcycle, on 15 October 2026. Autocar India reported that the bike was revealed at 8:30 pm IST, seven days after a teaser from the company.

The F 450 GS adventure bike was the first member of the F 450 range, and the F 450 RR is its newest addition. Speedweek said the model has been placed as a separate supersport offering in the 48 PS segment.

Powertrain and components

Speedweek reported that the bike is powered by the same 420cc parallel-twin engine that debuted on the F 450 GS. Among the specifications it listed:

  • Output: 35 kW (48 PS), produced at 8,750 rpm
  • Torque: 43 Nm, peaking at 6,750 rpm; roughly 80 per cent of the maximum is on tap from 3,000 rpm
  • Crankpins offset by 135 degrees, plus a balance shaft
  • Fuel capacity of 14 litres, with range expected to exceed 350 km
  • Meets Euro 5+ norms; claimed fuel use is 3.8 litres per 100 km
  • Braking: a 310 mm disc up front gripped by a Brembo four-piston monobloc caliper, and a 240 mm disc at the rear with a ByBre caliper
  • Standard fitment of ABS Pro (cornering ABS) and Dynamic Brake Control

Speedweek said the design borrows from the BMW S 1000 RR, featuring side fairing panels that are not symmetrical, gills on the right flank, winglets, and an LED headlamp flanked by RR-style daytime running lights.

The India link and launch timing

In its coverage of the F 450 GS, Autocar India has reported that TVS Motor Company builds the BMW 450 platform for BMW at its plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The publication had previously said it expected the F 450 RR to arrive in India after the F 450 GS went on sale, either later in 2026 or in 2027.

No Indian price or launch date for the F 450 RR has been announced by BMW. As a point of comparison, Autocar India lists the F 450 GS, which reached Indian showrooms in April in three variants, at ₹4.70–5.30 lakh (ex-showroom). A few Indian automotive websites have put out unofficial price estimates for the RR, but the company has not confirmed them.
