OPPO announces ColorOS 17 in India with AI Mind Pilot and Call Guard; rollout begins 29 October
OPPO's Android 17-based ColorOS 17 brings new AI tools and reaches Find X9, Find N6 and OnePlus 15 phones first, from 29 October.

OPPO announced ColorOS 17, its Android 17-based software, for India and global markets on 13 October. The update brings a set of on-device and cloud AI tools, and stable rollout to existing phones begins on 29 October, according to reports by Digit and MobiGyaan. The new software will debut on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series, which Digit reported is launching in India on 22 October.
The release also matters for OnePlus users. MobiGyaan reported that ColorOS 17 has been announced for OnePlus devices in India, which marks the brand’s move away from OxygenOS. The rollout for OnePlus starts on 29 October with the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4.
AI features announced
OPPO said AI is “now being built into the system,” Digit reported. The AI features listed by OPPO include:
- AI Mind Pilot (Agent Mode): carries out multi-step tasks on files and photos stored on the device, such as finding, sorting and renaming them.
- AI Photo Agent: edits photos from natural-language instructions. A Style Match option applies the colours and tone of a reference image.
- AI Mind Space: turns saved documents and video links into searchable “personal memories.”
- AI Mind Suggest: shows morning briefs, flight and train cards, and music suggestions when headphones are connected.
- OSee: a camera-based tool for object recognition, translation and HD scanning.
- AI Call Guard: on-device monitoring of calls for spam and fraud, including warnings for synthetic voices and face-swapped video. Digit reported that it is available in India now.
For privacy, OPPO cites its Private Computing Cloud for encrypted cloud AI processing, and a Transparency Report that shows users which AI services ran and when, according to MobiGyaan.
