Months of speculation about Kavya Maran of the Sun Group and Sunrisers Hyderabad and music composer Anirudh Ravichander gained firm ground on Friday, 16 October, when her parents personally invited Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to the couple’s wedding reception, according to a post from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office.

Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran called on the Chief Minister at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad and handed over the invitation, Deccan Chronicle and Oneindia reported, citing the CMO’s post on X. The reception is to be held in Chennai on 21 November, the CMO post said.

Several details doing the rounds online have not been officially verified. Reports on social media say the wedding ceremony itself will take place in Greece on 11 November; Deccan Chronicle described this as a report that is circulating, and Oneindia said it remains unverified. Oneindia also noted claims that actor-politician Vijay and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin have been invited, which it said have not been independently confirmed. Some earlier social media posts had mentioned 14 November for the reception, a date that differs from the one in the CMO post.

Talk of a relationship between the two has surfaced repeatedly. In 2025, Anirudh brushed off marriage rumours on X, writing “Marriage ah? lol… Chill out guys, please stop spreading rumours,” as quoted by Siasat. In June 2026, his uncle, actor Y. Gee Mahendra, said in an interview that, from what he had been told, the marriage was “a sure thing,” Siasat reported.
Kavya Maran is associated with the Sun Group and its IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Anirudh is among the most prominent composers in Tamil and Telugu cinema; he scored the music for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, produced by the family’s Sun Pictures.
