CBSE 2027 date sheet: no official PDF yet, here is what is confirmed and what to expect
CBSE has not yet released the Class 10 and 12 date sheet for 2027. Here is what the board has confirmed, what last year's timeline suggests and how to avoid fake PDFs.

Searches for a “CBSE 2027 date sheet PDF” are climbing, but students and parents should know one thing first: as of Tuesday afternoon, 20 October, the Central Board of Secondary Education has not published a timetable, tentative or final, for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Any PDF claiming to be the official schedule that is not on the board’s own website should be treated as fake.
The Daily Rostrum checked the notices and press releases section of cbse.gov.in on Tuesday. The newest press release there is dated 29 September and concerns a webinar for schools on registration and the List of Candidates (LOC). Other recent notices cover a reminder to schools on accurate LOC submission (9 October), exam forms for private candidates (7 October) and a Class 12 special-exam schedule for students in West Asia. None of them gives dates for the main 2027 board exams.
What CBSE has confirmed so far
According to the board’s 29 September release, the LOC process for the 2027 Secondary and Senior Secondary exams is already under way, and registration of Class 9 and 11 students was to begin shortly. CBSE said these processes cover students in nearly 32,000 affiliated schools in India and 26 other countries. Its officials urged schools to get student details and subject combinations right at this stage so that candidates are not troubled by paperwork later.
Accurate LOC data matters for the date sheet itself. Last year, the board said its schedule had been drawn up around more than 40,000 subject combinations so that no student would face two papers on the same day, Gulf News reported.
What to expect, based on last year
The 2026 cycle offers a useful guide. CBSE issued a tentative schedule on 24 September 2025 and the final version on 30 October 2025, about 110 days before exams began, according to Gulf News. Both classes started their papers on 17 February 2026; Class 10 ended on 10 March and Class 12 on 9 April. Papers began at 10.30 am.
2026 was also the first year of two board exams for Class 10, introduced in line with the National Education Policy 2020. Careers360 reported that the first sitting is compulsory, while the second, held from 15 May to 1 June last year, is optional and meant for those who want to improve their marks. The Class 10 second-exam results were declared on 18 July 2026. The two-exam structure applies only to Class 10; Class 12 continues to have one main exam.
Education portal Careers360, in an update on 8 October, said it expects the 2027 date sheet to come out in October, with Class 10’s first exam in February–March, its second in May, and Class 12 running from February into April. These are projections, not official dates, and its “tentative” subject tables list only months.
How to avoid fake PDFs
Every year, edited or recycled timetables spread on WhatsApp and social media before the real one appears. Students should rely only on documents posted at cbse.gov.in or shared by their school, check that the file mentions 2027 and carries the board’s letterhead, and be wary of sites that demand sign-ups or app downloads to “unlock” a date sheet. Once CBSE releases the schedule, schools will also circulate it to candidates.
Careers360 expects practical exams to be held in November–December for winter-bound schools and in January–February for the rest, ahead of the theory papers. Those dates, too, will only be final once CBSE notifies them.
