OnePlus India sets ColorOS 17 rollout: OnePlus 15 first on 29 October, full list here

ColorOS 17, which replaces OxygenOS on OnePlus devices in India, reaches the OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 on 29 October, with more phones and tablets following through early 2027.

OnePlus users in India now know when their phones will move to the company’s new software. OnePlus India has published a phased timetable for ColorOS 17, the Android 17-based system that replaces OxygenOS on its devices, with the first stable builds due on Thursday, 29 October, for the OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus Pad 4.

The schedule was posted on the OnePlus community forum, according to Beebom, and has been reproduced by several Indian technology sites. MobiGyaan’s and Beebom’s versions of the list match device for device. Both note that the dates are windows rather than guarantees, and MobiGyaan cautions that regional, carrier and hardware differences may mean not every eligible handset gets the build at the same moment.

Month-by-month schedule

29 October 2026: OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4.

30 October 2026: OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s.

November 2026: OnePlus Open, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12, Nord 6, Nord CE6 and OnePlus Pad 3.

December 2026: OnePlus 12R, the 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, Nord 5, Nord CE6 Lite, Nord CE5, OnePlus Pad 2 and Pad Go 2.

January–March 2027: Nord 4, OnePlus N6, N6x and N6 Lite, and the OnePlus Pad Lite.

Beebom also reported that for some older models, among them the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Open, this will be the final major Android upgrade. Owners of those phones may want to check the support policy for their specific model.

Why OxygenOS is going away

The change of name is not cosmetic. OnePlus first signalled in July, in a community forum note reported by TelecomTalk, that it would ship Oppo’s ColorOS on its phones from Android 17 onwards, ending the separate OxygenOS skin that the brand had used for years. The same announcement came alongside the company’s decision to wind down operations in the US, Canada and Europe; it said buyers there would continue to receive promised updates, warranty service and after-sales support.

According to MobiGyaan, OnePlus says a single software base will simplify development, speed up updates, improve quality and let it share engineering and research resources with Oppo. ColorOS already runs on Oppo handsets sold in India, and Realme is also expected to adopt it.

What ColorOS 17 brings

The headline visual change is what Oppo calls Living Flow Design, with translucent layers, lighting effects and smoother transitions; Beebom likened the look to Apple’s Liquid Glass style. MobiGyaan lists a long set of AI tools, including AI Mind Pilot with an Agent Mode for multi-step tasks, an AI Photo Agent with Style Match, AI Mind Space and the OSee visual assistant, as well as AI Call Guard to flag suspected fraud calls and a transparency log of AI activity.

OnePlus also makes performance claims based on its own lab tests: up to 30% lower rendering load, up to 25% less rendering-related memory use and more than 25% more apps kept alive in the background. These figures have not been independently tested.

Users can check for the update under Settings once their device’s window opens. As with any major upgrade, backing up data beforehand is advisable.
