The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) put out the full timetable for its 2027 board examinations on Friday, 6 November, giving Class 10 and Class 12 students a little over three months to plan their revision. Both classes begin on Tuesday, 16 February 2027. Class 10 papers wrap up on 9 March, while Class 12 runs much longer, until 9 April.

The schedule can be downloaded from the board’s website, cbse.gov.in.

Timings

Every paper will be held in a single morning shift starting at 10:30 am. Three-hour papers finish at 1:30 pm; two-hour skill and elective papers end at 12:30 pm.

Practicals and other points

Schools in winter-bound areas will hold practical exams and internal assessments from 9 November to 19 December 2026; all other schools will do so from 1 January to 13 February 2027.

A student needs at least 33% in each subject to pass. Class 10 candidates can take an optional second exam to improve marks in up to three subjects, while Class 12 students who fall short can sit supplementary exams. More than 26.5 lakh students have registered for Class 10 and over 19.8 lakh for Class 12.

One date to watch: some minor Class 12 papers fall on 22 March, which is Holi in 2027. CBSE has not announced any change so far, so students should follow the published schedule unless the board issues a revision.
