Hero MotoCorp launches updated Xtreme 160R 4V from ₹1.27 lakh with cruise control and ride modes
The refreshed 160cc motorcycle comes in Standard, Pro and Carbon trims, with bookings opening on 17 October.

Hero MotoCorp on 16 October introduced a refreshed Xtreme 160R 4V in three variants, with introductory ex-showroom prices from ₹1.27 lakh, alongside an updated Xtreme 250R. Bookings open on 17 October, according to Autocar Professional.
Variants and prices
Both Autocar Professional and Motoroids reported the same Delhi ex-showroom figures for the 160cc model:
- Standard: ₹1.27 lakh
- Pro: ₹1.37 lakh
- Carbon: ₹1.41 lakh
- Xtreme 250R (Carbon): ₹1.98 lakh
Before the launch, Rushlane had listed the outgoing 160R 4V at ₹1.35 lakh to ₹1.38 lakh, which suggests the new base variant undercuts the earlier range.
What is new
The update brings electronic aids that were previously absent from much of the range. According to Motoroids, the Pro adds a ride-by-wire throttle, three riding modes (Rain, Road and Sport), cruise control, upside-down front forks and dual-channel ABS. The top Carbon variant gets a full-colour TFT screen, backlit switches, an adjustable clutch lever and a coloured front wheel. The Standard trim keeps an LCD console, a mechanical throttle, conventional forks and single-channel ABS, Motoroids said.
Hero describes cruise control as a first for the segment, Autocar Professional reported. All versions get a reshaped fuel tank, fresh graphics, H-shaped LED daytime running lights and LED lamps at both ends.
The four-valve, oil-cooled single is rated at 17.1 PS at 8,750 rpm and 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm, with a claimed 0–60 km/h time of 4.4 seconds. The two outlets differ slightly on displacement: Autocar Professional gives it as 163cc, while Motoroids lists 164.32cc.
Deliveries and the 250R
Deliveries begin on 1 November, Autocar Professional reported. Motoroids added that this date applies to the Pro and Carbon trims, with the Standard variant due in January 2027. Sales will run through Hero’s dealer network, including more than 130 Hero Premia outlets.
The Xtreme 250R update adds four ride modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, tyre-pressure monitoring and a new rear damping system. Motoroids said the price is ₹25,000 higher than the earlier standard version.
“The Xtreme family is a key pillar of this strategy,” Anuj Dua, Chief Business Officer for the premium segment, said, referring to the company’s premiumisation push, according to Autocar Professional.
