Samsung Galaxy F70 5G launched in India: price, sale date and specifications

Samsung launched the Galaxy F70 5G in India on Sunday, 18 October, adding a new mid-range model to its F series, which is sold mainly online. The first sale is scheduled for Tuesday, 20 October, on Flipkart and Samsung’s India website, according to Gizmochina and The Tech Outlook.

Price: reports differ

Launch-day reports do not agree on the price. Gizmochina lists two variants:

• 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹19,999
• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹22,999

The Tech Outlook, however, reports a starting price of ₹17,999 and mentions no other variant. Neither report gives details of bank offers, so it is not clear whether the lower figure is an effective price after discounts. Before launch, a Flipkart teaser had shown the price masked as “Rs 1X,XXX”. Buyers should check the final price on Flipkart or Samsung’s website when sales begin.

Based on Samsung’s and Flipkart’s launch material, as reported by SamMobile, 91mobiles, Gizmochina, GSMArena and The Tech Outlook, the phone offers:

• Display: 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection (The Tech Outlook says Victus 2)
• Processor: Samsung Exynos 1330 (5nm)
• Rear cameras: 50MP main with optical image stabilisation, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro
• Front camera: 13MP
• Battery: 5,000mAh with 25W wired charging; Gizmochina says the charger is sold separately
• Storage: 128GB with a microSD slot
• Body: 7.5mm thick, IP54 dust and splash resistance, side-mounted fingerprint sensor
• Colours: Vivid Violet and Bold Black

Software features promoted by Samsung include Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini, Samsung Wallet with Tap and Pay, Quick Share and Knox security.

Refresh rate unclear

Sources also differ on the screen’s refresh rate. SamMobile, Gizmochina and 91mobiles describe a 120Hz panel, while The Tech Outlook lists 90Hz. GSMArena had speculated about a 90Hz screen before launch, assuming the F70 is a rebadged Galaxy A17. Samsung’s official specification page should settle the point.

Where it fits

The F70 sits between the Galaxy F70e, priced from ₹18,499, and the Galaxy F70 Pro, priced from ₹37,999, according to 91mobiles. Its closest competition is expected from other sub-₹25,000 5G phones sold on Flipkart and Amazon.
