Ultraviolette X-47 Venom launched at Rs 2.65 lakh with up to 343 km range on new VX-100 platform
Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette has launched the X-47 Venom, the first bike on its new 100V VX-100 platform, with introductory prices from Rs 2.65 lakh for the first 5,000 buyers and deliveries from November.

Bengaluru electric motorcycle maker Ultraviolette has launched the X-47 Venom, the first model built on its new VX-100 platform, at an introductory price of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Bookings opened on October 22 and deliveries are due to begin in November.
The opening prices apply only to the first 5,000 customers. After that, each variant will cost Rs 35,000 more.
Four variants, two battery sizes
The Venom comes in four versions, with introductory prices starting at about Rs 2.65 lakh for the Venom, Rs 3.15 lakh for the Venom+, Rs 3.75 lakh for the Venom Recon and Rs 4 lakh for the Venom Recon+. Each variant is offered within a narrow price band, with the top end about Rs 13,000 higher.
Buyers can choose between a 7.5 kWh battery and a larger 11 kWh pack, the new SRB-11. Ultraviolette claims a range of 227 km for the smaller battery and 343 km (IDC-certified) for the bigger one, both improvements over the previous X-47.
Lighter and quicker
The company says the new platform cuts weight noticeably: the base bike weighs 180 kg, 17 kg less than the earlier 7 kWh X-47. Peak output is 30 kW (about 40 hp), and Ultraviolette quotes 0 to 60 km/h in 2.7 seconds, 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (2.2 seconds quicker than before) and a top speed of 155 km/h.
The SRB-11 battery is said to offer up to 20% higher energy density and better cooling. The bike supports 12 kW DC fast charging and has a 1.6 kW on-board charger.
Features
Dual-channel ABS, traction control and stability control are standard. The top three variants add cruise control, camera-based parking assistance and a 7-inch TFT screen, while higher trims also get a 77 GHz rear radar for blind-spot and rear-collision warnings and an integrated dashcam.
Chief executive Narayan Subramaniam said the Venom brings together distinctive design and deeper engineering. The company, whose backers include TVS Motor Company and Zoho Corporation, also plans a European launch at the EICMA show in Milan on November 3.
