What the list tells us
Hindi cinema has the year’s biggest hit, but the list is far from Bollywood-only. Films in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada take four of the top ten places, and two Hollywood releases, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, made the cut.
Still to come
The last quarter usually brings some of the biggest releases. Drishyam 3, which crossed ₹100 crore in its first two days, is the first big test of the festive season, and Diwali releases could still change the top ten before the year is out.
