The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the result of the Constable (GD) 2026 computer-based examination, with 1,97,408 candidates provisionally shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), according to reports. The result was released on 12 October on the official website, ssc.gov.in.

Who has qualified

The computer-based examination was held between 27 April and 30 May 2026, India TV reported. According to Testbook and Physics Wallah:

  • Candidates who appeared: 21,56,776
  • Shortlisted male candidates (excluding SSF): 1,81,251
  • Shortlisted female candidates: 15,782
  • Shortlisted male candidates for SSF: 375
  • Total vacancies: 25,487, according to Testbook

Testbook reported that 48,83,309 candidates had applied for the recruitment, which covers Constable (GD) posts in the Central Armed Police Forces and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau.

Cut-off marks

For male candidates in the SSF category, the cut-off was 146.178 for Unreserved, 145.558 for OBC, 144.207 for EWS, 140.954 for SC and 135.032 for ST, according to Physics Wallah; India TV reported the same figures for male candidates. Physics Wallah noted these should not be treated as the overall cut-off for every candidate, as state-wise and area-wise cut-offs for other forces are given in the official result notice. Among the state-wise cut-offs for female candidates in the Unreserved category, Testbook listed 120.90 for Delhi, 116.03 for Bihar and 102.08 for Andhra Pradesh. The minimum qualifying marks are 30% for Unreserved, 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for SC, ST and ex-servicemen candidates, according to Physics Wallah.

What comes next

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is the nodal CAPF for the PET and PST, according to Physics Wallah, which advised candidates to watch the CRPF recruitment portal (rect.crpf.gov.in) for instructions and call letters. Testbook reported that the physical tests are expected in November 2026, though no official schedule has been announced. Shortlisted candidates will also go through a medical examination and document verification. Testbook said individual scorecards are expected by the end of October.

To check the result, candidates can visit ssc.gov.in, open the Results section, select Constable (GD) and search for their roll number in the result PDF.
