Motorola has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the Signature 27, will launch in India. Shivam Ranjan, Marketing Head at Motorola, announced it at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in Delhi on Friday, 9 October, according to NDTV Profit and 91mobiles.

India will be among the first markets to get the phone as part of its global rollout. Motorola has not announced the India launch date or price.

Key features

The phone was first unveiled at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in September, 91mobiles reported. Its confirmed highlights include:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, with speeds of up to 5GHz
  • Cooling: an “ArcticMesh” system using diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a 3D vapour chamber that Motorola says is 40% larger than the previous generation’s
  • Cameras: a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera
  • Audio: tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a first for a Motorola phone
  • Software: seven years of OS upgrades; it is expected to run Android 17
  • Colours: Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green

AI features

The phone comes with deeper Google Gemini integration. NDTV Profit reported that users can create videos from text prompts, photos or footage with Gemini Omni, and generate music and soundtracks with Google’s Lyria tool.

What is still unknown

Motorola has not confirmed the display, battery, charging speed or full specifications. Both reports said prices for the Signature 27 and the iQOO 16, another flagship shown at IMC, could approach ₹1 lakh in India because of rising memory and storage costs, but this is an estimate, not an official figure.

91mobiles noted that the Signature 27 is the first Motorola phone to be named with the last two digits of the coming year.
