OnePlus users in India have started receiving ColorOS 17, the new Android 17-based software, a few days earlier than the officially announced date of 30 October. The stable update is rolling out to the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s, and the OnePlus 15R is also getting it in India.

Build numbers

The OnePlus 13 is receiving firmware CPH2649_17.0.0.102 (EX01), the OnePlus 13s gets CPH2723_17.0.0.101, and the OnePlus 15R gets CPH2767_17.0.0.106 (EX01). Other eligible OPPO and OnePlus phones are expected to get the update in phases over the coming months.

What’s new

ColorOS 17 brings a refreshed visual design with smoother animations and new lighting effects. The notification shade and Quick Settings panel have been redesigned, and the lock screen, Live Alerts and built-in apps have been improved.

Under the hood, an upgraded Laminar Flow Engine promises smarter memory management and better handling of apps running in the background. The update also adds AI-powered tools and improved support for connected devices, though some features may differ from phone to phone.

How to update

Go to Settings, then System & update, and tap Software update. Updates usually arrive in stages, so it may take a few days to appear on every device. Before installing, connect to Wi-Fi, make sure the battery is well charged and back up important data. “ColorOS 17” was among the fastest-rising tech searches in India on Friday.
