UPSC CSE Mains Result 2026 Out: 2,526 Candidates Qualify for the Interview Round

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the written result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026. A total of 2,526 candidates have made it to the Personality Test, the final stage of the selection process for the IAS, IPS, IFS and other central services.

The Mains exam was held from 21 to 30 August 2026. It was taken by those who cleared the Preliminary Examination, in which 13,343 candidates qualified.

How to check the result

1. Go to the official website, upsc.gov.in.
2. Open the “Written Results” section.
3. Click the link for “Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026”.
4. A PDF with the roll numbers of qualified candidates will open; search for your roll number.
5. Download and save the file.

The next deadline: 11–25 November

Candidates on the list must log in to the UPSC online application portal between 11 November and 25 November 2026 (till 6 pm) to complete or update the required details. It is best not to leave this to the last day.

Interview details

• The Personality Test will take place at the Commission’s office, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi.
• Interview call letters will only be issued as e-Summons on the UPSC website; no paper letters will be posted.
• The interview schedule has not been announced yet.
• Marksheets of all candidates will be put online within 15 days of the final result.

Candidates should keep their original certificates ready, including those supporting any reservation or age-relaxation claim, as they will be checked at the interview stage.
