Jailer 2 Box Office: Rajinikanth Film Crosses ₹800 Crore Worldwide, Becomes Highest-Grossing Tamil Film
Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2 has grossed over ₹807 crore worldwide in 18 days, overtaking 2.0 as Tamil cinema’s biggest earner. Fans are now searching for its OTT date.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has become the highest-grossing Tamil film ever, crossing the ₹800 crore mark worldwide during its third weekend in cinemas.
The numbers so far
According to figures from industry tracker Sacnilk, the action drama had collected about ₹807.25 crore gross worldwide after 18 days. Of that, around ₹533.75 crore gross (₹456.30 crore net) came from India and roughly ₹273.50 crore from overseas markets.
The film released on 15 October. It overtook the earlier record held by Rajinikanth’s own 2.0 (2018), and is reported to be the first Indian film to gross more than ₹75 crore each in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala. Its four-day international opening of about $44.5 million across more than 20 markets placed it second at the worldwide box office that weekend.
About the film
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 brings back Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer from the 2023 hit Jailer.
When will Jailer 2 come on OTT?
“Jailer 2 OTT” was among the top searches in India on Wednesday. The makers have not announced a streaming platform or date yet. Reports point to a four-week gap between theatrical and OTT release, but with the film still drawing audiences, any announcement will be watched closely.
