The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister announced on X that "a new journey began yesterday", sharing photos with the journalist and author.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married journalist and author Nidhi Razdan. The National Conference leader shared the news on X on Saturday, 31 October, posting two photographs of the couple with a short caption saying a new journey had begun the previous day.
Razdan responded with a brief post of her own, writing “It’s done bro.”
Reports citing The Hindu say the marriage was solemnised in New Delhi on Friday, 30 October, under the Special Marriage Act, with family members from both sides present as witnesses. No details of the ceremony were shared publicly by the couple.
Background
Razdan is a former NDTV anchor and the author of Left, Right and Centre: The Idea of India. She has long-standing ties to Kashmir and attended Abdullah’s swearing-in as Chief Minister in Srinagar in October 2024. Speculation about the pair had circulated for years, though both had largely stayed silent on it.
Abdullah was earlier married to Payal Abdullah (née Nath) in 1994; the couple separated in 2009. According to reports, the Supreme Court dissolved that marriage by mutual consent in July 2026.
